Code of Conduct for the Staff, Partners and Associates of All EKOL Group Companies

The purpose of this document is to familiarise the customers, business partners and the public with the fundamental ethical values and principles of the company.

The company is committed to the following key values:

Legal Compliance

Under any circumstances the company shall comply with the laws and other legal regulations of the Czech Republic, as well as with all the obligations and liabilities arising from them. The company does not attempt to evade them, does not instigate other entities to violate the law, and does not take part in any such violation deliberately. The company strictly complies with confidentiality principles in business activities.

The company complies with technical regulations, rules and standards; checks and properly maintains technical equipment by using a documented quality management system, and keeps the staff qualification at the level of the best technical excellence.

Compliance with the Principles of Competition

The company shall observe and act in conformity with the competition acts and in accordance with the principles of ethical conduct in competition, does not enter into restraints of trade with other competition applicants, and does not abuse its position on the market for the purpose of excluding, limiting or otherwise infringing or endangering the competition. The company acts in conformity with fair business principles.

Conduct on the Market

The company shall not provide or offer any remuneration or benefit to any person or entity with the aim of making them act in contradiction with good manners or the legislation of the Czech Republic in order to get an inadequate advantage.

The company shall neither require nor accept any inappropriate payment or remuneration that would be provided with the aim of making it act contrary to the obligations set herein.

The company truly records any and all financial transactions and keeps accounts in conformity with the applicable legal regulations, accounting policies, methods and regulations.

Political Neutrality

The company shall maintain political neutrality and shall not support any political organisation by way of gifts or any other advantage.

Health and Environmental Protection

The company shall fully respect and observe regulations in respect of the environment and strives to achieve more favourable conditions than those required by the regulations, taking into account local conditions. The company applies the strategy of continuous improvement of all measures targeted at the protection of life, health, safety, property and the environment in the interest of all the entities that can be affected by its activities.

Professional Contacts with Customers and Suppliers

The Company shall establish and maintain stable and long-term relations with its customers and suppliers, based on mutual confidence and respect to each other´s interests. The company presents services and products in a true and fair manner, making only such statements and decisions that do not contradict good manners in business.

The company guarantees that the quality of the products and services produced by it complies with the standards valid in the Czech Republic and is in accordance with the corresponding descriptions and declarations.

The company takes care to inform customers and the public about facts relevant from the technical and safety point of view.

The company strives for solving all customers´ comments, complaints and claims properly, in time and in line with the Code of Complaints.

Occupational Relations

The company
  • under any circumstances shall create and guarantee appropriate working conditions for its employees in terms of labour safety, and protect the lives, health and property of customers and other persons,
  • shall provide a safe and healthy working environment, and make endeavours to improve it continuously.
  • shall provide equal working opportunities to people regardless of the race, colour, sex, nationality, religion, ethnical origin or any other different characteristics, shall not permit discrimination or any molestation,
  • shall not employ persons younger than 15 or with unfinished compulsory school attendance,
  • shall not make use of slave or forced labour, or any other non-permitted practices restricting free movement of its employees,
  • shall respect the employee´s right to life minimum and shall always pay minimum wages,
  • shall treat its employees with respect, without any distress and oral offence,
  • shall not tolerate any corruption, fraudulent or pressure practices.

General Principles of Employee´s Conduct

Employees shall perform their work honestly, with utmost decency, consciously and in good faith. They take decisions and solve issues objectively based on the facts and without any unnecessary delays. Employee shall always act correctly, responsibly and supportively.

Employees shall not abuse their position, knowledge, confidential information obtained in connection with the job and personal contacts to their benefit or to the benefit of any other third person, they shall keep confidential any and all facts they have acquired in connection with the performance of their work.

In their personal lives the employees shall refrain from any activities, behaviour or acting that could impair confidence in the company in the eyes of the public and harm the company´s reputation. Each employee taking part in a situation where he/she could be taken for the company´s representative should usually express the company´s opinion only, leaving out his/her personal views.

Each employee shall immediately inform about any suspicious circumstance when a certain situation does not correspond with these principles, rules or internal regulations, without any negative consequences for him/her. Employees shall always act in a way that does not violate standards of the criminal law, primarily Act no. 418/2011 Coll. on criminal liability of legal entities and proceedings against them, as amended, and shall always observe generally binding legal regulations, the company´s labour code and other internal directives in force.

Employees´ attention is in particular drawn to the principle stipulating that any request for a bribe by an employee or reception of any kind of bribe or any other benefit is deemed inadmissible practice and shall never be accepted by the company.

Employees shall protect the intellectual property of EKOL group, as well as all passwords and other access data into (electronic and other) systems of EKOL group companies.

Conflict of Interests

Each employee of the company shall by his/her acting prevent situations in which he/she would be exposed to a potential conflict of his/her private interests and the position held in the company. The term “private interest” includes any benefit for the employee, his/her family, close and relative persons.

Management of Funds and Equipment

Each employee of the company shall take all efforts, in conformity with the applicable legal regulations, to achieve maximum efficient management and usage of the funds and equipment provided.

Each employee shall manage these funds/equipment in an efficient and economical way.

Employees, customers, business partners or the entire public may inform about situations they think do not comply with the above-mentioned principles and rules of the company sending a notice to the attention of the General Manager and asking for an investigation thereof. The company states and assures the whistle-blower that all notices and proposals will be attended with due care and measures will be taken to remedy the undesired situation and to avoid or turn off the consequences.
