Before the general repair, this turbine was found in emergency conditions. The turbine stator was heavily damaged by corrosion especially in the flow section. Also the stator blades and the guide wheel blades were heavily corroded and damaged by fly-by of foreign particles. It was made equalizing and sand-blasting of the turbine casing and the stator blades and connection material of the split plane were replaced by the new ones.
A heavily damaged part was the rotor. With regard to its very bad condition it was decided that it would be better to replace the whole rotor. In consequence of this, there were replaced also both journal bearings by a newer type and at the thrust bearings it was made re-casting of the bearing metal. Also the impeller was damaged and there it was also necessary to make re-casting of the bearing metal.
After such replacement and repair of the parts damaged the turbine was again able to operate at its original parameters, as at the time of its putting into operation.
