During the period from 11/2014 to 3/2015 it was realized the general repair with complete replacement of the flow section blades. The turbine was transported from the power plant in Estonia to the plant of Ekol Energo in Brno, where a complete revision was executed and the scope of correcting works was determined.
There were made analyses of material and tests of mechanical properties of the turboset stator and rotor. The results demonstrated unacceptable values of notch toughness of stator material that negatively affect propagation of cracks. By means of the flaw detection tests there were found cracks in the casing. The cracks in the casing were subsequently repaired (grinding, welding, annealing).
It was ascertained deflection of the turbine casing, when by means of indication of the casing split plane it was found deflection of ca 4,5 mm. It was necessary to make machining of the split plane, bore of the flow section, grooves for blades and all bores and functional surfaces in the casing upper and lower parts.
The most serious problem of the rotor repair was deep corrosion of the rotor flow section that led to reduction of the rotor wall, especially above the blade bases. For prevention from next corrosion, the rotor flow section was provided with an anti-corrosive spray.
All sealing and connection material was replaced and all other parts went in for a thorough revision, repair or cleaning.
By request of the client there were blinded some steam extractions after the governing stage and drainage was installed in their place.
